A bit about me
Hello, I am Ben and welcome to Ben Braybrooke Photography! I am a wedding photographer living in the stunning seaside town of Swanage in Dorset. Other than photography I absolutely love to travel, which pairs up beautifully with photography as I can really slow the pace down compared to a wedding and really hone my composition and technical skills. For example, I took a trip Iceland in 2021 and I knew that I stood a good chance of photographing the northern lights. With a lot patience and endurance in the cold temperatures (-13 celsius) I got this stunning scene on my camera!
How did I get into Wedding Photography?
As I have already mention my love of travel, my passion for photography started whilst exploring in Europe and Canada documenting my travels. In fact I do believe that my travels had a big influence on my documentary photography style which I have today. So I first went from being a hobbyist travel photographer to shooting a wedding and absolutely loving it when I photographed my best friends wedding in Guildford. It was a really small, intimate back garden wedding under a Marquee, but I have never felt such a buzz from photography, everyone was having the best time and I really captured that vibe. I knew it’s what I wanted to do from then on.
I am really passionate about wedding photography in a documentary style because I love to tell a story with my images as beautiful memories unfold. The vast majority of my work is unstaged but I do like to offer some posing guidance if you are feeling camera shy and want to look your best in the photos! But, I do believe that the best images are taken of fast, fleeting moments that can be missed in the blink of an eye. Although my style of photography is quite discreet, I do also enjoy joining in on the dance floor fun to get best the shots of the action! I enjoy to communicate with my couples and help them through the entire journey, it is a great way to form a connection by meeting my new clients over a cup of coffee in Studio South www.studiosouth.art, run by my partner Sophie and I.

First and foremost, I am a very friendly and smiley person. I love working with couples in love and bringing out the best of everyone with my big smile and very positive attitude.
Feeling Camera Shy?
If you’re one of those people who really aren’t a natural in front of the camera, have no fear! I am a very patient person who will make you and your partner feel more relaxed and natural, and bring some romance into your photos. I love to capture weddings as they happen in a natural and candid style, but sometimes couples need a little bit of guidance, which I can help with. I have lots of poses and prompts up my sleeve which I have at the ready if the need arises.
Personal Service and Aftercare
From the moment you fill out my enquiry form to receiving your wedding photos I offer a stress-free, professional and enjoyable experience. I will be in frequent contact along the way. The first thing I do when you book with me is to arrange an engagement photo shoot, this is a great way for us to get to know each other. It also helps me understand how you and your partner react in front of the camera, and will make your wedding photos look even better! After your wedding photos have been digitally delivered I will give you the option of having an album professionally made which I will oversee, all you have to do is tell me which of the most special photos you want in the album.
I’m Well Equipped!
I have invested in a lot of equipment to make sure that I am always able to capture your big day no matter what is thrown at me! I have spare cameras, lenses, batteries, memory cards and lighting equipment. The cameras I use also back up the images to two memory cards at the same time so I always have a backup in-case something goes wrong. I am also very dedicated to making sure your wedding images are kept safe after the big day. Before I go to sleep I make sure that everything is backed up on multiple hard drives.
I am fully insured!
Not only is all my equipment insured in case of an accident or theft but I also have public liability and indemnity insurance just in case the very unlikely did happen. Rest assured, you are making a fantastic investment by choosing me to capture your big day!
36 hour preview
I will always deliver to you a selection of preview photos within 1-3 days after your wedding, whilst you are buzzing after your special day.
Engagement Photo shoot included
Not only are my prices very reasonable but I also include a free engagement photo shoot with every wedding booked. I believe that this adds a lot of value to my packages because you get the opportunity to get to know my style of photography before your wedding day. We will be able to get to know each other before the big day, which I feel helps me deliver a more professional product to my clients.
Pre-Wedding Meeting
A few weeks before the wedding we will have a meeting to run through the plans and timing schedule of your wedding day so that I know the exact plan. This can be done on a zoom call or, even better, you can pop into my shop in Swanage for a free and delicious coffee whilst we run through the details. This is a great option if you haven’t yet met me, I highly recommend meeting me before the big day!
